Summer wars review

Genres: adventure, comedy, romance, action

Themes: computers, family, social networking,

Objectionable content: Mild- nothing dangerously worthy of note

On first thought the name summer wars sounds like a movie about water fights where in reality it is more similar to the .hack series or the matrix on some points. During the summer, math genius kenji koiso goes with his secret crush and the school biggest love natsuki to her home to pretend he is her boyfriend. During his stay he gets  a random text that is a jumble of numbers, he gets it wrong but many others get it right allowing a learning Hacking AI to take over the world’s biggest social control called oz which controls everything from street lights to emergency vehicles and space satellites. It then goes on a spree witch causes mass hysteria and global panic. This climaxes with it attempting to drop a satellite on a nuclear reactor witch Causes kill millions. To stop it, kenji, natsuki and her cousin who uses one of the most famous fighter avatars in oz known as king kazama to fight the AI known as love machine.

Other than the simple fact that love machine would make a absolutely wonderful .hack// villain this anime is freaking awesome, spending its time in both the virtual and real world to hold it together with actions happening in both. Honestly I don’t want to say anymore or I’m worried I’ll ruin its awesomeness but everyone should seriously watch this movie or its awesome ness of 11/10 (yes I’m serious ) is going to waste!

Baka to test shokanju season 2 review

Genres: comedy, romance, action

Themes: parody, school, school war,

Objectionable content: significant – violence, mature themes, large quantities of non violent blood

continuing the awesomeness of the first season the second season of baka to test shokanju has just as much comedy without sacrificing the storylines from the first, in fact it continues them. The romances bloom showing which characters will probably go with whom in th third season ( there will be one im sure) and it continues with even more varied action with the crazy little avatar chibi summons. Everything from talking summons to werewolf summons make appearances and these actually are used to help along other story line section in addition to creating absolutely ridiculously amazing comedy. I  have to say that if I give you any more spoilers it would be too much charity and that this season is just as good as the first, making this series one of my top 5 fav’s now. I give it a 10/10 just as its first and am telling you that you have to watch this, im not giving you a choice in the matter!

Yumeria reveiw

Genres: adventure, comedy, fantasy, romance,

Themes: harem, dream world, time traveler

Objectionable content: moderate – ecchi, innuendo

When the boy tomokazu  mikuri goes to sleep on the eve of his 16th birthday he dreams of an odd realm where he sees a young girl in an oddly skimpy costume fighting a large geometric monstrosity. When he awakes, the girl is sleeping beside him! He finds that in this land where he continues to meet more girls he has the ability to amplify their power to fight the dream being known as faydoom, but not all is ass it seems.

Now I know what your thinking , dream worlds have been done before, but I tell you this now, yumeria is actually an old anime it seems and even though it is old, the story line is just as good as many new anime. Its storyline has huge comedy with thrown in character development and social building so we can see what the characters are actually like in the real world ( unlike the .//hack series). It also has variation in the creatures they fight and even meeting with time travelers. I’m not saying it was the first for anything i’m just saying that considering the anime’s age it is very well done and the  storyline is well developed and held together with a great 7.7/10.
