Kokoro Connect

Genres:  comedy, drama, romance, school, slice of life, phycological

Themes:

Objectionable content:  moderate – slightly mature themes and actions, mature subject matter.

Imagine, the club you are a part of in school now gets semi regular visits from a body possessing alien who likes to screw with all your lives for his own entertainment. That basically sums it up.

In kokoro connect the cultural research club has a problem, a being called heartseed has come and is now pulling their lives apart thread by gathered for his own entertainment by causing supernatural happenings,  in the order of body swapping, uncontrollable urges, age regression and forced empathy( emotion telepathy).

I kid you not. Kokoro connect is basically a slice of life anime with these instances in it where the main plot workings are how the five friends are affected by these different happenings, and how it affects their respective relationships.

While its actual plot may sound odd it is actually very well done and is highly effective in what it sets out to do, making you think about how these things affect people and about the different kinds of people around us.

I really recommend it, it is worth watching even if it’s just for the hilarious hijinks.

Hanako and the terror of allegory (complete manga)

Genres:  mystery, horror

Themes: ghosts

Objectionable content: moderate – blood and gore and mature themes

What do you do when simple stories and folk tales come to kill you? You run like hell and get help obviously.

When detective aso daisuke is not dealing with con artists or his ero manga collection he is working with one such story to stop other allegory from killing people or destroying their lives, and when a girl runs into his office to help will he be able gto save her from men with bloody axes, fish people and murderous dolls, Or even himself?

Created by the creator of future diary (witch I need to watch still) is actually rather creepy at points as almost every chapters story has some kind of weird twist. I also found the characters relations fit with the story perfectly and the action in the manga was well suited to how the story went.

In all honesty it is very well done and I do hope that it gets made into a anime as I think it would be a very good one for those who like anime like future diary or when they cry!

New anime spotlight

Simply put instead of a full anime I’ve watched the first episodes of a few of the new anime coming out presently. Most only have one or two episodes out so the storyline still has room to grow for most so I shall not be judging them with a number but with just my thought on them from seeing the first episode.

Btoom!!

Genres: action, psychological, sci-fi

Themes: unknown( as in we don’t know yet)

Objectionable content:  intense violence and gore.

Okay so from the first look it seems that in the world there is an online game called btoom, in it people fight with sonar and bombs, that’s it. Sakamoto ryota is a college reject who lives with his mom and is the best player of btoom in japan who one day wakes up on a island with a pouch of bombs exactly like those in the game and then is attacked by another person who he ends up killing, violently.

Is it just me or does this sound like a combination of halo and bomber man? Honestly I’m not expecting too much from this anime personally as the plot thus far seems kind of dry to what it could be, and the action looks to be the only thing that’s good as the character interaction is very little.

Busou shinki

Genres: action, comedy, sci-fi, slice of life

Themes: living dolls, mecha

Objectionable content: light violence (so far)

Okay I seriously thought that the character in this were cheap knock off of infinite stratos when I first saw them honesty.

Basically in the world there are 15 cm, dolls called shinki who have personalities all their own who serve only their one master. These shinki can dawn armour to fight each other fpr multiple reasons.

The anime itself seems to be mostly following the high schools freshman rihito’s three shinki more than him in the anime and show the mischief and fun they get into. It is very comedic and does do a good job of explaining things when the action or story gets a little slow.

Girls und panzer

Genres: action, school, tanks, war

Themes:?

Objectionable content:  potential violence?

This anime ought to be paid for by the mmo world of tanks!

In a world where the art of combatting tanks is considered an art akin to flower arrangement there are schools that have it in their curriculum. Miho is a girl who has transferred schools to get away from her bad memories of this but as she transfers in they bring it back to this school and coerce her into it again.

We don’t see too much action in the first episode except for a foreshadow event at the start of the episode but this first episode does do a good job of setting up some background and character relations. I think this anime has the potential to be good or bad, though I must admit the animating for the tanks look s like they stole the sprites from world of tanks a bit as the tanks are all done.

oniai

Genres: comedy, romance, school

Themes: forbidden love, harem,

Objectionable content:  slight( well this is comedic incest)

Okay so why is it I’m getting a vibe similar to kisssxsis here? Oh wait that’s because they both have a major plot point of forbidden love to a sibling!!

Okay so Akito Himenokōji lives at his school dorms and his twin sister whom he has not seen for six years akiko has come to the same school and is going to be staying at the same dorms as him. Only thing is she’s a pervert who is intent on getting together with her brother, and the lengths and miscommunications between them are ridiculous indeed.

Honestly this one has a lot of potential as it’s a harem anime were akiko is fighting or her brothers love with three other girls but honestly it still just ends up being a forbidden love story, so if that’s your thing then here ya go

So that’s all I’ll be commenting on for now, but please do comment on what you think these anime shall become or whatever your thoughts on them may be!

code geass: lelouch of the rebbelion

Genres: action, drama, psychological, science fiction, supernatural

Themes: Alternate history, mecha, military, politics, real robot, school, strategic minds, war

Objectionable content:

Oh. My. Gods.

That’s all I can say at this point. I have not seen this good of mecha anime in such a long time, I may have to alter how I rate the reviews from now on to compensate because there is no way can mark this as a 10/10   without being sad at not being able to rate it higher.

Lelouch lamerouge is a British highschooler in area 11 of the holy Britannian Empire, area 11 was once known as japan but fell the might of the Britannian knightmare frames their mechs. He stumbles upon a power called geass that allows him to make anyone do anything, even genocide. Using this power he vows to help the one who gave it to him, a mysterious girl named cc and also vows to get vengeance on the ones who killed his mother. To do this he must bring does the largest country in the world, Britannia.

While he is very strategically minded using his power makes him a bit…okay a lot power hungry. Coupled with his complete lack of mental control until he partially loses his mind make him a powerful if very dangerous foe with little cares beyond protecting his sister. I honestly cannot think of a way to calculate the ranking for this awesome anime.

As for the new system for my reviews it shall now on be split into the story/plot, the character interaction/relations and  action/events. I shall also begin being a little harder on the animes I review as well.

Story/plot: 8.7/10

Character interactions/relations: 8.1

Actions/ events: 9.6
